Wings for Life

The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation was established in 2004 by Red Bull CEO Dietrich Mateschitz and two-time motocross world champion Heinz Kinigadner. Wings for Life supports the world’s foremost medical sciences research projects into the curing of spinal cord paralysis. The state-approved organisation has invested approx. 4.1 million Euro in spinal cord research to date. It is guaranteed that one hundred percent of every donation made to the Wings for Life research foundation flows exclusively into the research. All of the Foundation’s administrative costs are paid for by its founders. Donations to Wings for Life are tax deductible in Austria, Germany, Spain and the USA. I am now being drawn back to the cockpit once more in the DTM (German Touring car champoinship). Instead of selling my personal sponsorship surface, I am dedicating the space on my racing overalls to Wings for Life. I have have spent several years campaigning for the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation in order to promote awareness of the private research foundation throughout the world. I have been lucky – not just once in my life. The ability to walk is not something to be taken for granted. There are many people out there who were less fortunate than I was and who are left with spinal cord injury paralysis following an accident or fall. It is for this reason that I am supporting Wings for Life. The Foundation enables medical progress in spinal cord research. Each new finding is an important piece of the jigsaw puzzle on the path to reaching this goal.
